Classical School (of Criminology) Research Assignment Paper - 550 Words

Classical School (of Criminology) Research Assignment Paper (Research Paper Sample) Content: Classical School (of Criminology)Students NameInstitutional AffiliationClassical School (of Criminology)The Classical School of Criminology alludes to the methodology of assessing crime and criminality, which is predicated on logical thought processes determining rational action and is based on the deliberation of free will. It first emerged in the late eighteenth and saw further development in early nineteenth centuries by the two pioneers of legal reform who sought to establish a clear, legitimate, and intelligible criminal justice system based on equality. The main premise of the classical notion is the equating of punishment for a crime proportionately to the committed criminal act. This measure ensures fairness and in that regard upholds the value of true justice while also acting as a deterrent. In addition, the assumptions herein encompassed the freedom of choice being held to its subsequent consequence in a consensual society ratified by the agreed upon social contract and prevailing common interest. The impetus of the classical school was to abrogate the primitive, cruel, and arbitrary European criminal justice system that was prevalent before the French Revolution in 1789, which functioned under the precedent that criminal actions are motivated by spiritual or supernatural causal factors (Jeffery, 1959).An Italian Aristocrat called Cesare Beccaria founded the classical school. In 1763, Pietro Verri, the then protector of prisons, commissioned him to formulate a dialectical penological system. This commissioned work became the infamous book known as On Crimes and Punishments first published anonymously a year later in 1764 causing an uproar, which faced resistance from the patrons of the archaic legal paradigms of the day. The classical thought further expounded by Jeremy Bentham who was 19 years old when Cesare Beccarias anonymous essay was published into a book in 1767 and went on to become one of his main proponents. Bentham was a Br itish classical theorist who postulated that hedonistic utilitarianism was the underlying governing principle that controlled human behavior. Utilitarianism advocated that the consensual purpose of all actions is to bring out the greatest happiness or best outcome for the majority or greatest number of people. Hedonism applied the principle that human behavior is controlled by the pursuit of self-indulgent desires and the avoidance of the infliction of pain (Burke, 2001).Beccaria and Benthams ideas congruently formed the fundamental rhetoric of the penal system that has been of tremendous influence in the establishment of the modern criminal law. Even though the classical school, later on, came to be challenged by the positive school, it had outlined a precedent of legal concepts and theories rooted in rationale deductions and inferences. The idea of the social contract where the welfare of the majority is held as the sanctity of civility is a central tenet of contemp...

Personal Narrative Just A Game - 721 Words

The cheer of the crowd and the laughter of the kids in the air were the only things reminding me that it was just a game. Eight and a half innings, seven pitching changes by both teams, twenty-seven runs scored in all, and we were still losing. The sweat came dripping off my nose and forehead like melting ice. My eyes stung, and I could barely keep them open due to the bright rays of the sun beating down on the dirt and grass, the baseball diamond seemingly larger than it had been eight and a half innings ago. My coach’s whisper rang through my ears. â€Å"Only if you think you can,† he said so softly that I had to almost lean in to hear what he said. As I got ready for the next pitch, I had realized that the count was one and two. My teammate had one strike left before we lost the game. I racked my brain to figure out how I should get home safely, and decided to just go for it. As soon as the pitcher got in his stance, everything changed to slow motion. I was focused on the pitcher’s right foot to where it was going, and as soon as I knew he was going to try to pick me off, my body shifted towards home and I lunged at home plate and ran as fast as possible. My legs churned like train rods, the train hauling towards its destination. As I got within ten feet of home plate, I dove. At one point, I was all the way in the air, my arms reaching out for the one thing that mattered most at this point. I was f alling, and I heard someone shout, â€Å"Tag him.† I needed to touch home before they tagged me. I reached so far, I felt like my arm almost came out of my socket. And everything stopped. Of Mice and Men Importance of Dreams - 777 Words

Importance of Dreams in Of Mice and Men Many people have dreams in Of Mice and Men but I intend to discuss the dreams of Lennie, Candy and Curley s wife. Lennie s dream is of owning a farm of his own with George. In his dream he looks after the rabbits. He likes this idea because he likes to pet things and the small things he finds as he is travelling around, like mice, are too easily hurt or killed when he pets them heavily. Rabbits are big enough for him to look after without hurting them. He also remembers that he used to pet rabbits when he lived with his Aunt Clara. As George and Lennie travel around they tell each other their dream as a way of coping with the loneliness of being migrant workers in America in the 1930s.†¦show more content†¦Curley s wife has a different dream. She dreams of being a film star. She obviously hated the place where she grew up and when she was told she had the potential to be in movies she thought she could escape to Hollywood. However, she never got as far as Hollywood and ended up being trapped on the ranch with no one to talk to. Curley is not interested in her dream and the only person she finds to share it with is Lennie. Curley s wife s dream is also ended by Lennie. All three dreams make me feel differently about the characters. Without his dream Lennie would have had no direction in his life and his behaviour would be annoying rather than sad. As it is, Lennie s dream gives hope to George, Candy and even Crooks. Lennie s ambition to look after rabbits shows him to be a gentle man in spite of the violence that goes on in the novel. Crooks dream of sharing in George and Lennie s plans gives him more depth, particularly after the death of his dog. Curley s wife s dream reveals another side to her character. Generally in the story she appears to be trying to get the men into trouble, but her dreams and frustrations show that she is as lonely as the other people on the farm. John Steinbeck makes very good use of dreams throughout the novel. Leadership Reflection Charismatic Leadership

Question: Discuss about theLeadership Reflection for Charismatic Leadership. Answer: Introduction Self Reflection In this course work I have learned about the various concepts of leadership and management. Our textbook, defines leadership as the ability to influence people toward the attainment of organizational goals (p. 494). It also acknowledges that followership has a significant influence on leadership.Today, I can say that there is a considerable difference in the field of management and leadership. I have also studied the leadership styles of various leaders. I have particularly liked the democratic leadership style practiced by Steve Jobs. I have also learned about other leadership styles like transformational leadership, charismatic leadership and servant leadership. I have personally liked the servant leadership style a lot. This is illustrated by Daft (2013) in his Hot Topic discussion of how people have studied Jobs management and leadership styles due to the unprecedented success of Apple. Early in his career Steve was a leader and he used his skills to build up the company from 2 p eople in a garage to a huge computer corporation. But, his lack of management skill led to problems and his eventual departure. His return to Apple showed that he had learned a lot of sophisticated management theory and was able to apply it to become a super-successful manager-leader before his untimely demise. I have also learned that the organizations should focus on leadership development and not only managerial development. The managers would often do the transactional work. However, leaders would often focus on the transformational work. I believe that the leaders have an integral role to play in all the four functions of management, planning, organizing, leading and controlling. According to Daft (2014) there are four functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. Below are examples of the each and the challenges they present to both the manager and the leader. Manager: Planning can be a challenge if the manager lacks conceptual skills or the ability to see the big picture, organizing can be difficult if there is constant turnover of employees, leading can be a challenge if the manager is not sensitive to the needs of direct reports or has difficulty motivating people, and controlling can become an issue if the manager does not confront problems as they occur or has problems with communicating expectations (Fulop Day, 2010). Leader: Planning can be a challenge if there are not well-defined goals, organizing may be problematic if the leader does not trust others enough to delegate responsibilities, leading may be a challenge if leaders dont know how to listen or dont demonstrate their own expectations, and controlling may be a challenge if a leader does not value the employee or understand what motivates them. While Daft presents four functions of management, Plucknette (2014) describes four distinct differences between leaders and managers. I suggest people are not that easy to categorize. In the example above, many of the challenges of a manager and a leader can be minimized or eliminated by combining the attributes of each role and applying them as situations dictate. Managers cannot be successful if they do not possess attributes of a leader and leaders cannot be effective if they cannot be an effective manager (Dion, 2012). I personally think that one challenged posed by serving, as a leader is being able to motivate your employees and looking at it from a planning, organizing, leading and controlling perspective is important. Planning to keep your employees motivated is a great start, first setting goals for the future of the organization, with the employees being included. Letting the employees in on where the company wants to be in the future and how to accomplish this all-important goal. Organizing a way to get the employees involved, such as having open communication, having employee unity, encouraging the employee to put in their own ideas and goals for the organization. As the leader a challenge would be one of helping make the employees feel that the organization is personally their organization, in other words, to take ownership (Pavur, 2012). The challenge posed for the leader is leading the employees to stay motivated. The leader should communicate the goals of the organization on continued b ases. Out of the four leadership theories of democratic leadership, transformational leadership, charismatic leadership and servant leadership, I would particularly like to focus on servant leadership. I believe that there is a long way for me to master the servant leadership theory. I have learned that planning is an important part of servant leadership and it is important that the leaders should be willing to serve. I have also learned that leaders should take all the people together while implementing and strategies and policies. The planning step for servant leadership begin by scanning of the environment and being aware of the critical contingencies facing the organization and economic goals. Objectives need to be establishing is this step, evaluation of alternatives, and course of action to reach goals. Challenges for managers and leaders in this function are not being fully familiar with the environment and economic status of the organization. Inability to integrate the plan into th e culture, operations, and budget also causes a challenge for managers and leaders in this phase (Javidan, 2012). Not being aware of the organization vision poses a challenge for leaders in this function. Lacking a deep understanding of the products they perform, roles and responsibilities poses a challenge for managers in this function. The next step in the servant leadership is organizing. This step entails developing an organizational structure and recruiting human resources to ensure the accomplishment of objectives. A weak communication process could be a challenge for both managers and leaders in this step. Open communication will ensure everyone is using the same methods and is using the same policies (Knutsen, 2014). The third important step as part of servant leadership is controlling. This step consists of three parts: establishing performance standards, comparing actual performance against standards, and taking corrective action when needed. Performance standards are ofte n measured by monetary terms such as revenue, profits, and costs (Carpenter, Bauer Erdogan, 2014). A challenge for managers is this step is when they worries that what the organization did today will have a direct impact on his or her monthly goals, as a result they run equipment when there are indications equipment are in the process of failing, and focus on cost cutting as opposed to improving productivity. A challenge for leaders in this step is not to focus on continuous improvement and not focusing on people behaviors and leading indicators. Using leading indicators, they will invest in new equipment, people, and technology to grow their business and market share (Pluncknette, 2014). I have also learned about the differences between management and leadership. The manager is the employees direct point person. They are available, visual and are easily contacted for direction and assistance at all times. The manager leads by example through dedication, confidence and consistency of their performance (Mumford, 2013). The manager wears many hats such as mentor, teacher, leader, point person, as well as confidant. They are the one who is in charge of making sure the production remains high and the quality of what is being produced is on par with company expectations. Their primary concern is the application of rules and procedures to achieve efficient production (Daft, 2013). The manager is more detail oriented to the day to day tasks of staffing, fielding issues, employee complaints or mistakes. Every day is different and produces many issues that must be handled quickly and efficiently to maintain production. A manager must know their job and their employees strength s and weaknesses to be able to keep performance at its peak. I believe that it is possible to be both a leader and a manger, whereas I have seen the people that display both. I have known a supervisor, she is always encouraging others, being supportive of others needs and concerns, motivates others to work to their full potential, and willing to help in any matter that she is needed. She always set goals for the both of us for success and set a path for a successful outcome. Leaders are goals setters, monitors, and leading others to be a leader, and have a vision and goal for long-term success. Mangers are the ones that push others toward the goal, give a direction toward the goal, and express the expectations of a successful outcome of the goal. I agree that not all managers are leaders and not all leaders are managers. The both must lead by example in order or their followers to work to their full potential for success. I do believe that is you desire that you can become both but have to lead with compassion but with authority by displaying trust, honesty, and being faithful to your followers. In order for an organization to be successful their leaders/managers have to work together for the good of the organization and their followers for a successful outcome (Birnbaum, 2014). A leader is a visionary, leaders are always looking for ways to do things better (Kearney, 2014). I believe that it is possible to be both a manager and a leader. I believe that it takes someone that is dedicated to lead by example and is a servant leader as well as obtaining the necessary skills to manage appropriately. Very few managers can do that. It takes continuous personal assessment and making sure to stay true to personal core values. I believe that I have been an informal leader since childhood. I was always organizing neighborhood games or games on the playground during recess. People come to me for advice and my co-workers look to me to lead. I don't know that much about management but am excited by what we are learning. I think there are certain areas of management that I have learned by watching good and bad examples. I hope to put all that together and be capable of being a good leader-manager when I finish this program. I am very compassionate in my work and very humb le to others needs. I feel that I would lead by example by putting others first and building a positive relationship with my followers and being supportive in all aspects. In order to be both you have to have a vision for a future growth and success that aligns with the mission of the organization. As a conclusion I would like to say that leadership and management are different foci on the same phenomenon. They are two sides of the same coin. A good leader must be a good manager and a competent manager must develop some real leadership skill and ability (Hough, 2012). In my professional career I would like to continue the path of servant leadership. I believe that there is something unique in servant leadership that keeps people together. The leaders that practice servant leadership style are loyal and they are always ready to support their leaders. As a leader, I would like to see myself at a place where I can lead from front. As a first step of leading, my first step would be to help other through serving. I can say that organizations should focus on leadership development so that people remain motivated and can focus on organizational development. References Birnbaum, R. and Lach, L., 2014. Type of Hazards in Biscuit Manufacturing-Free-Samples for Students

Question: Choose a type of business or undertaking that you will base this assessment on. For instance, you might choose to base the project on a landscaping business, a butchers shop, a beauty salon, a car wash, a manufacturer of whitegoods or a producer of pet food. Discuss the type of Hazard in your selected Busness. Answer: Introduction Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) or Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is an important tool to assess and measure risk hazards that may affect the health wellbeing and safety of involved people at workplace (Xiang, Pisaniello and Hansen 2014). These people can be employee, employer, clients, suppliers or visitors. Compliance to WHS policies is important for organizations, as failure to that can render them and their owners answerable to law and prosecution (Salim, Salleh and Zawawi 2016). While working in a biscuit manufacturing company the primary objective of this assignment is to explain the safety and hazard management approach I applied at that manufacturing plant. Further, it will explain the way PCBU (Person Conducting Business or Undertaking) was applied in that workplace. Type of hazards in biscuit manufacturing company While working in a biscuit manufacturing company, there are several health and safety related problems the employees and workers have to face every day. The risk involves exposure to biological, chemical and sound related hazards (Gill 2015). Further, exposure to heat or cold and sharp objectives are also there. Biological hazards include microbial cultures that are used in the manufacturing process of biscuits can be inhaled or ingested by the workers. Furthermore, inhalation of ingredient dusts can lead to hazardous situation. there are several heat treatment process are followed in the food manufacturing unit such as cold room, heat treatment room ,, pasteurization where the difference is temperature is more than 80 degree Celsius (Wu et al. 2017). Exposure to that may lead to hazardous situation. on contrary, usage of chemical agents for cleaning and disinfection of baking room, using sharp objects like cutting blades for cutting and packing and working in confined spaces for tra sh, fermentation tanks has the potential to create a hazardous situation in manufacturing unit. Hazard management This is a problemsolving process, which is generally used in organizations to identify problems, assessing and collecting information about it and taking necessary steps to solve those issues. Further, the management process reviews and evaluates the process so that the hazard can be stopped from happening again (Ryan 2012). As a worker of this manufacturing unit, I undertook PCBU process or Person Conducting Business or Undertaking process to ensure that the staff and employees are not exposed to hazardous risk. Through this process, I was to assess and confirm that the work system is safer, complies with the workplace and health and safety rules of Germany, welfare facilities for employees are adequate, the management takes adequate care of the workers (Berton and Urry 2012). The PCBU process There are five aspects of PCBU, according to which, the assessor has to view and assess the problems in system, take necessary steps to fix it and after that evaluation and review the changes. For the first two process, I visited the entire production unit, especially the baking room, cold storage room, pasteurization room, and cutting and mixing room for finished product and raw materials respectively (Ryan 2012). To understand the managers and higher authoritys perspective on hazardous situation, I assessed the hazard report of the manufacturing unit. After assessing the respective departments, I understood that the workers at the baking and finished product mixing room are at higher risk as those departments were having higher rate of risks. To fix the problem, according to Gill (2015), I implemented the use of temperature-protected gloves, mask and eye goggles for the workers working in baking oven room. This was important as the temperature at baking rom is more than 350 degree Celsius and without proper safety equipment, workers were at higher risk. Further, in the cutting and mixing room, I suggested to use automated cutting and separating machine as the hazard report indicated that four workers had accidentally cut their separating partners hands. Hence, usage of automated cutting and separation machine will be helpful in controlling the risk related to this process. Furthermore, in the cold storage room, where the temperature is below -10 degree Celsius, and in pasteurization room where the products are introduced to heat shock, safety measures such as gloves, safety goggles, masks and coats were introduced (Gill 2015). After the assessment and fixation of the problem, I had the responsibility to review and evaluate the process. For the review process. I followed the manufacturing unit for further 5 days and reviewed that all the implementations for lowering the risk of hazardous situations are being followed by the workers and their supervisors or not and complied with the WHS law or not (Ryan 2012). In the review process, it was observed that, the supervisors were not being able to implement the WHS policy properly on the workers that led the workers neglect the safety process and increase the risk of hazardous situation. Hence, training for employees, workers and supervisors were introduced regarding workplace health and safety so that the next step of PCBU, evaluation can be performed without any biasness (Regan and Fettell 2017). The evaluation process was carried out using a closed ended questionnaire having 25 question regarding health and safety norms and the entire employees of the manufact uring unit was involved in the evaluation process. This process of evaluation was used so that the knowledge of employees regarding the WHS policies can be assessed and a proper documentation of the evidence can be produced. Furthermore, it could be understood that the implemented PCBU interventions are easy to apply in such manufacturing unit or not (Davies et al. 2012). Conclusion Workplace Health and Safety is an important tool to protect the workers of any organization from unwanted hazards and risks. Every organization such as manufacturing units or simple beauty salon should apply these protective policies in to their workplace so that employees and customers are safe inside their premises. As a worker in a biscuit manufacturing unit, I was assigned with the responsibility to carry out PCBU or Person Conducting Business or Undertaking to assess the unwanted hazardous risks present in the manufacturing unit. This process helped me to identify different risks related to baking, cold room, pasteurization and mixing and cutting departments. Further, using this process, I was able to find out loopholes of those department and implemented interventions to lower or eliminate the risks. Further, to reinforce the understanding I carried out training and development program with workers and evaluated their knowledge using closed ended questionnaires. Sharon Pollocks Walsh Essays - , Term Papers

Sharon Pollock's Walsh Progress is the elimination of the savage. These words of General Terry, a character in Sharon Pollock's Walsh, demonstrates how he and his fellow white men feel towards Native Indians. The indians see Canada as their homeland, but the Canadian government will not let them stay and will do anything in their power to make them leave to the United States. They are cheated against, lied to, and betrayed by their government, because of their ethnic background. Especially Sitting Bull, the head of the Sioux nation, who is being accused for the death of General Custer. Walsh, Sitting Bull, and General Terry contribute to this theme of prejudice towards the Sioux by the government and Walsh's struggle to keep his responsibility as an individual and his high principles. Major Walsh of the North West Mounted Police who attempts to prevent Sitting Bull and the Sioux from being sent back from Canada to the United States, apparently to stand trial for the death of General Custer and his men at the battle of Little Big Horn. Walsh has sympathy for Sitting Bull and the Sioux. He feels, as a member of the force he should do everything in his power to help them: An able and brilliant people have been crushed, held down, moved from place to place, cheated and lied to.....and now , they hold here in Canada, the remnants of a proud race, and they ask for some sort of justice....which is what I thought I swore on oath to serve! Walsh has a responsibility for Sitting Bull and the Sioux as a friend to help them in their struggle for justice and respect but Walsh was forced against his better judgment, to sacrifice his own high principles by his fellow police men and friends. The government, which Walsh represents lies and makes excuses to the Sioux of why the should be going to the United States. Walsh is a man who knows that there is a nobility to his struggle, but he surrenders responsibility as an individual. Walsh is a well-meaning but ultimately ineffectual white man whose potentially tragic status is undermined by his decision to go back on his promise of his responsibility to Sitting Bull and the Sioux. His moral dilemma is at a disaster when he agrees to his governments demands and sends Sitting Bull and the Sioux to his certain death in the United States. His mentality has totally been altered and he almost feels no sympathy for them anymore: And I can give you nothing! God knows, I've done my damnedest and nothing's changed. Do you hear that? Nothing's changed! Cross the line if you're so hungry, but don't, for Christ's sake, come begging food from me! Now Walsh is just like the rest of the men, careless and heartless. He has hardly no feelings towards Sitting Bull and the Sioux and he is trying to send Sitting Bull and the Sioux to the United States, thinking that they're going to get food and shelter. Sitting Bull, the head of the Sioux nation, and the Sioux are not blind to see what's really going on. They know the Canadian government is prejudice against them and that they don't want them on their land or in their country. They know the government is lying to them so they can go to the United States to be in an even worse situation then they are in, in Canada. Sitting Bull and the Sioux are being betrayed by their own government. Sitting Bull says that to Walsh: When I was a boy, the Sioux owned the world. The sun rose and set on our land. We sent 10,000 men to battle. Where are those warriors now? Who seen them? Where are our lands? Who owns them? Tell me...what law have I broken? Is it wrong for me to love my own? Is it wicked of me because my skin is red? Because I am a Sioux, because I was born where my fathers lived, because I would die for my people and my country? ....This white man would forgive me....and while he speaks to me of forgiveness, what do his people say in secret? 'Seize their guns and horses! Drive them

The Birth of a Nation essays

The Birth of a Nation essays The Birth of a Nation: Does the Portrayal of the Ku Klux Klan In this controversial 1915 film compare to documented history of the organization? D.W. Griffith was raised in South Carolina by his father who was an ex-confederate soldier. Griffith was raised to believe that fathers views on the superiority white race and the strength of the Confederacy were the natural and correct beliefs. And, when his father joined the Ku Klux Klan, the young boy was introduced to a magnified degree of racism and white supremacy. However, he was blinded from the reality of the situation. When Griffith created the film, Birth of a Nation, he based it on a glorified version of the KKK and their attempt to preserve the peace of the Confederacy, but fails to show the horrors created by the organization during their crusade. In the film, Birth of a Nation, it is explained how when the blacks are given a right to vote, and an election for a senator takes place. A power-hungry mulatto man was elected. The Clan agreed that he had triggered the fermentation of their peaceful state. They believed the blacks were electing leaders who were destroying the Confederacy. In order to prevent the blacks from voting for the Radical Republican Candidates, the Klansmen lingered around the voting booths in atop their horses and in costume to intimidate the black voters. In reality, not only did the Klan use their presence to frighten the blacks from voting, they also used violence. In some cases, the Klan proved their seriousness by murdering important leaders of the black community and members of the Radical Republic Government. In the film, the Klans violent action was under-exaggerated in order to withhold the dignity of the Klan for those who did not believe such actions were justified. At another point of the film, the Mulatto Senator passed a bill that legalized the relationships between blacks and whites. After ...

Biological oxygen demand (BOD) of water sample analysis

Biological oxygen demand (BOD) of water sample analysis Essay – The first end point colour was of a yellow colour, perhaps not light enough – Addition of starch indicator produced a grey-black solution; perhaps did not add enough indicator, however this did not pose as a problem – There was one occasion where I suspected to have added too much sodium thiosulphate, however the second trial indicated that I did not go past the end point too much To calculate the dissolved oxygen content (mg/dm ³ or ppm), we must first determine the number of mols of thiosulphate from the mean titrated volume of both samples. In this case, we will use sample A. The Winkler method indicates that the relationship between the amount of oxygen and thiosulphate is a four to one ratio. Therefore, we will divide the number of mols of thiosulphate by four to get the number of mols of oxygen. Then we convert this to milligrams per dm ³ first by multiplying by 20 to arrive with the number of mols present in 1dm ³ (because the pond water sample used was 50cm ³). Then we multiply that number by 32 (molecular mass of oxygen) to attain the number of grams of oxygen. Then finally, the number is multiplied by 1000 to be converted into milligrams. The biological oxygen demand (BOD) would therefore be the difference between the DO of sample A and sample B. Biological oxygen demand (BOD) of water sample analysis. (2017, Nov 17).

The Developing Child Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words - 1

The Developing Child - Essay Example An understanding of a child’s development is significant since it gives an insight into the cognitive, bodily, emotional, social, and educative development that a child undergoes. The major theories attempt to describe every aspect of development using models. The theory shares a school of thought that children are born with a hereditary aptitude to learn any human language. He further maintains that particular linguistic configurations, which children use so perfectly, are already embossed on the child’s intellect (Socha, 2010). Child A understands the use of different objects that he is familiar with. He even uses sound effects for his car during their play with Child B, mainly because he understood the particular configuration of a car including the sound it makes when in motion. It was evident that Child A went ahead to add two big pieces to his model and alerted Child B about his new model, the airplane. Clearly, Child A is so accurate in his design and uses previous experience to affirm his involvement. Secondly, Chomsky’s theory explains that there exists a language acquisition device or LAD in every child’s brain, which is responsible for encoding the major principles of a language, and its grammatical structures. Every child uses LAD to form simple sentences during a conversation (Saxton, 2014). In the context, it is evident that Child A can use simple sentences when speaking, and does use link words in his sentences. The ability to use simple sentences confirms that the child is already aware of the basic sentence construction, and therefore, uses it to instruct Child B to run away from the monsters. This confirms the child’s grammatical understanding. Thirdly, Chomsky informs that a child doesn’t probably learn a language through mimic only, because the language that people around them speak is extremely lopsided.

Rhetoric Principle Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Rhetoric Principle - Essay Example It is, therefore, wise for employed people to invest and if they do not do so now, they will wallow in poverty and desperation alongside those who never had employment or invested. There are many areas in which a person can invest including entrepreneurship, shareholding, real estates, agricultural activities, and banking among others (Gray, 1983). The good news is that at least, every person can find an area of interest in investment options. These options also fit in a variety of jobs one does (Domini, 2011). Moreover, everyone can easily investment in an economic activity that fits his or her timetable, financial status, social status and cultural orientation. Therefore, there will be no reason to justify if a person is abandoned by his children to wallow in poverty in old age when he should have laid a strong financial foundation by investing. There is also no reason for one to claim that he or she was not employed given the loan packages that financial institutions offer all over at interest rates that even lay people can
